Amplifier Load Calculator

A power rating means nothing without the load it was measured into, and a load means nothing until you know how the units are wired. Enter the count, the nominal impedance and the wiring, and this returns the load the amplifier actually sees, the output voltage that rating implies, and the watts each unit ends up taking.

Safe for any amplifier rated to 2 ohms or lower.

Method: the amplifier’s rated pair fixes an output voltage of V = √(P × Z), and that voltage is applied to the new load — so power scales as V² ÷ Z. Real supplies sag, so treat the total as a ceiling rather than a promise. Equal units share it equally in both wiring schemes. Nominal impedance also names a curve, not a value: a 4-ohm unit can dip under 3 near port tuning and climb past 30 at resonance.
